Food Hygiene Training

Food hygiene training is important for everyone, but it is especially important for businesses that handle food. By providing food safety training to your employees, you can help to protect them and your customers from foodborne illness.

EC Regulation 852/2004, the foremost legislation which governs Food Standards Scotland, requires that every person working in a food handling environment must be trained to a food hygiene standard that is relevant and corresponds to their role. This means that anyone who handles packaged foods, such as those who assist with coffee mornings and other similar events, should complete a Level 1 Food Safety and Hygiene Course and, anyone who prepares meals or handles high-risk foods should complete at least a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Course.

Here at MacEwan Associates, we have over 25 years working with numerous businesses in countless different industries. As part of our available services, we provide our customers with food hygiene training courses which helps your employees stay up to date with the latest rules and regulations, helping you to ensure that your business is, and remains compliant. We can also provide Bespoke Training Courses for your business. These courses count towards CPD hours and can have sections included and excluded as necessary; for example, you may wish for us to deliver a Level 2 in Food Hygiene, but you are a business which specialises in Gluten Free Foods, so we can create a bespoke course which covers all the necessary topics for the Level 2 Food Hygiene but with a specific focus on Gluten Free Allergen management.
